As a true community hospital, governed by the community we serve, San Juan Regional Medical Center serves the healthcare needs of all in San Juan County regardless of the patient's ability to pay. Both charity care and community benefit activities are important elements of our deep-rooted involvement with the people of the Four Corners. Although the stories in this report present just a few specific examples of our community involvement, we hope the stories selected will illustrate the diversity of the people we serve and the scope of the community services we provide.

The term "community benefit" includes healthcare education and wellness programs, transportation, health screenings and health fairs, support groups, education resources and publications, and more. A simple list of our many and varied efforts is inadequate to describe their impact, so we hope this report will help convey how San Juan Regional Medical Center's community benefit affects the lives of real people in the Four Corners.
